Fashion for Good

Innovation Analyst

Elena Capillo is a Materials and Nanotechnology Engineer specialising in sustainability and circular product development. She works as an Innovation Analyst at Fashion for Good in Amsterdam, Netherlands leading materials validation projects with a focus on recycling technologies, assessing performance, environmental impact and end-of-use scenarios. Elena bridges material science and commercial application, supporting the industry in reducing adoption risk and accelerating the transition to more circular solutions. She holds a Master's degree in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology from Politecnico di Milano, where her research explored 3D-printed structures for wearable applications.

Lauren Junestrand

UKFT

Innovation and Sustainability Network Manager

Lauren Junestrand is the Innovation and Sustainability Network Manager at the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT). In this role, she leads a comprehensive portfolio of collaborative initiatives focused on advancing sustainability and innovation across the fashion and textiles sector. Her work encompasses industry-led partnerships, academic and industry research collaborations, and cross-sector programmes, with a particular emphasis on translating complex research into practical, industry-ready applications.

She is responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships across the UK and internationally, engaging stakeholders throughout the supply chain to support the transition towards more sustainable and circular systems. Lauren regularly represents UKFT at international forums, contributing insights on the future of fashion and textiles, with particular expertise in textile waste and resource efficiency, as well as innovation. In doing so, she acts as a representative voice for UKFT in the field of sustainability and innovation.

At UKFT, she has established and leads the organisation’s innovation membership programme, designed to support the UK’s fashion and textile innovation community through targeted initiatives. She also coordinates the annual UKFT Sustainability Conference, a key platform for knowledge exchange and industry engagement. Through her work, she has played a key role in strengthening UKFT’s position as a leader in sustainability and innovation.

In parallel with her role at UKFT, Lauren contributes to education and consultancy within the field of sustainable fashion and textiles. She holds a Master’s degree in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility and a PhD in Circular Fashion from the London College of Fashion.

Madelaine Thomas

Managing Director

As Managing Director of WTiN, Madelaine leads the delivery and strategic operations of critical data-driven intelligence and market insights that empower the global textile & apparel value chain. She is dedicated to driving digital transformation and sustainable innovation across the industry through high-quality intelligence, consultancy and strategic partnership. Working at WTiN for over 10 years, and previously as Head of Content, Madelaine has a wealth of knowledge across the supply chain. She holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Leeds, UK and a First Class Honours degree in International Journalism from Liverpool John Moores, also in the UK.

Jessica Robe

WTiN

Senior Business Innovation Lead

Jessica Robe is senior business innovation lead at WTiN, where she leads consultancy projects and contributes expert insight to WTiN.com. Her work focuses on emerging technologies, materials and solution providers across the textile and apparel value chain, with particular emphasis on functional and sustainability-driven innovation. Jessica also heads WTiN’s sports and outdoorwear coverage, tackling the likes of  circular business models, safer chemistries, user-centric design strategies and shifting market dynamics.
